Job summary

Morson Group, on behalf of a leading global aerospace and defence client, invites applications for a Financial Analyst in Oxford. The role is hybrid, requiring three on-site days per week with two days remote. Umbrella contract: 6 months at £37.01 per hour.

You will support financial reporting across defence programmes, handle payroll and asset control, VAT returns, and month-end close while contributing to future bid campaigns in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in payroll, fixed asset control, invoicing and Forex reporting.
• Experience preparing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting month-end processes.
• Knowledge of VAT returns and statutory audit support.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll journals and support payroll activities.
• Maintain fixed asset registers, including control and monitoring.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and raise intercompany invoices.
• Support statutory audit activities and provide required documentation.
• Produce Forex reporting and analysis.
• Assist with month‑end close activities and financial reporting.
• Support financial reporting for defence projects and future bid campaigns.

Essential Skills & Experience

Strong understanding of finance principles with experience in payroll, fixed asset control, invoicing and Forex reportingExperience preparing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting month‑end processesKnowledge of VAT returns and statutory audit supportExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong report writing and documentation abilitiesProficient in Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelAbility to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to tight deadlinesSolid understanding of work package management and work package controlKnowledge of risk management principles
