About the opportunity

A specialist real estate consultancy is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join their Operational Advisory team. Founded in 2021, this consultancy has rapidly established itself as a market leader in alternative real estate, providing investment services, operational advisory and development consultancy to leading UK institutions.

The successful candidate will work with the procurement and project management team, focusing on detailed analysis of client finances, calculating projected savings and income, and forecasting financial outcomes across the Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) and Build to Rent (BTR) sectors.

This position offers the chance to work with prestigious clients including several major investment managers and institutional investors. You'll be joining a team that has operational oversight of over 10,000 PBSA and BTR units/beds across the UK and Ireland. Your analysis will directly impact decision-making for major clients, providing valuable insights that influence financial strategies in the alternative real estate sector.

Key responsibilities
  • Analyse client financial data to assess project viability and forecast financial outcomes
  • Calculate estimated savings or income and determine appropriate consulting fees
  • Organise multiple data sources for comparative financial analysis
  • Provide both high-level financial overviews and detailed drill-down analysis
  • Categorise client expenditures and income at line-item level
  • Prepare financial reports and models for internal management
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors to address financial issues effectively
  • Identify additional revenue opportunities for business development
Requirements
  • Strong financial analysis and data management skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and Airtable
  • Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and VAT applications
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with keen eye for financial insights
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and resolve financial queries efficiently
