Job description

Budget Energy is seeking a new Financial Analyst to join the finance team on a permanent basis specialising in accounts receivable. The Analyst will play a crucial role in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting the overall financial health of the organisation. Responsibilities will include generating and reconciling customer accounts, managing financial controls, and ensuring that all payments are accurately posted. Additionally, the Financial Analyst will collaborate with various departments to resolve discrepancies, manage finance KPIs, and assist with month-end and year-end reporting, ensuring robust financial operations and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reconciliation and Controls

  • Generate and reconcile customer accounts receivable reports from ERP system.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are properly posted.
  • Manage reconciliations between payment sources and general ledger.
  • Identify discrepancies and delegate to relevant business owners for resolution.
  • Preparation of AR balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  • Liaison with internal and external auditors.

Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Supporting Budgeting & Forecasting, with particular focus on working capital and cash flow.
  • Analysis of aged customer balances to inform calculation and posting of debt provision monthly.
  • Managing & reporting of finance KPIs.

Finance Operations

  • Support the Finance Accounting team during Month end and Year end reporting.
  • Lead weekly review of debtor book discrepancies, to include Billing, Finance and IT.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing and payment discrepancies.
  • Review customer refunds issued on a weekly basis, ensuring robust audit trail.
  • Support Accounts Payable function as required.
Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate is a newly or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with over a year of experience in a similar role. They possess strong proficiency in Excel and are well-versed in accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite. This candidate thrives in a fast-paced PLC environment, demonstrating the ability to meet strict deadlines while maintaining meticulous attention to detail. Their excellent organizational skills are complemented by their strong communication abilities, enabling effective collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
