Financial Analysis - Pet Nutrition

Location: Waltham, Castle Cary, Birstall or Melton + Hybrid Working

Salary: £38,000- £46,500+ Bonus + Benefits

As the Financial Analyst you will support 4 factories across the UK, Germany and France for Pet Nutrition Supply, enabling growth and support for day-to-day operations. You will ensure the provision of accurate, transparent, and timely supply financial performance reporting (actuals and forecasts) to support decision making. You will leverage digital tools to perform deep dive analytics to work with the business partners and business stakeholders, regionally and locally to unblock challenges, and provoke opportunities for value creation. You will assist in improving processes, procedures and internal controls and complete special projects on an as needed basis.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience as a Management Accountant or Financial Analyst
  • Working towards a finance qualification
  • Technical understanding of cost and management accounting systems/processes and analytical techniques.
  • General business acumen with a demonstrated ability to understand functional interdependencies.
  • Able to use Excel to an advanced level.
  • Ideally experience in digital tools e.g. PowerBI.

What will be your key responsibilities?
  • Control and report P&L/dedicated P&L lines on short- mid- and long-term perspectives: provide performance analysis and planning, including scenarios modelling and bringing insight, opportunities, and risks evaluation.
  • Contribute to Sales & Operational Planning (S&OP) processes including period closing (including accruals), future performance planning, and estimation for P&L.
  • Closely co-ordinate with all functions/departments involved to ensure target delivery. Maintain close relationships with business/functional managers to review performance and suggest/co-ordinate corrective actions, where required.
  • Bring continuous improvement to reflect business changes in current systems and processes. Improve current tools and processes, focusing on developing and rolling out digital tools.
  • In your first 12 months, you will understand the business and have built good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
