Job summary

Peterborough City Council is seeking a Financial Accounting Manager to lead their financial accounting team, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance. Job description

All about the Role


  • Oversee the financial accounting team and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

  • Manage the preparation of financial statements in compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial regulations.

  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making.

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial alignment with business objectives.

  • Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals.

  • Proven experience as a Financial Accounting Manager or similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office.

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

  • Relevant accounting qualifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA).
