Job summary

Forge Holiday Group is seeking a Financial Accounting Assistant to join the Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract. You will work closely with our Senior Financial Accountant to ensure accurate financial records and support month-end activities.

The role requires AAT qualification or ongoing study, strong Excel skills, and experience with SAP Business ByDesign is advantageous. Enjoy 37.5 hours per week with hybrid flexibility and Chester HQ presence.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily cashbook and perform bank reconciliations.
• Support the preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Post accruals, prepayments, depreciation and other month-end journals.
• Produce daily receipts reconciliations.
• Reconcile key ledgers and partner accounts.
• Assist with year-end accounts and audit requirements.
• Support financial reporting and compliance activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, including AI and automation.

Job description

We're looking for a Financial Accounting Assistant to join our Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract. If you're detail-oriented, enjoy problem-solving, and want to develop your finance career within a growing business, we'd love to hear from you.

• Up to £29,000 per annum
• 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
• Minimum 2 days per week in our Chester HQ

About the role

Reporting to our Senior Financial Accountant, you'll play an important role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records while supporting the wider finance team with reporting, reconciliations and month-end activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining the daily cashbook and performing bank reconciliations
• Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Posting accruals, prepayments, depreciation and other month-end journals
• Producing daily receipts reconciliations
• Reconciling key ledgers and partner accounts
• Supporting year-end accounts and audit requirements
• Assisting with financial reporting and compliance activities
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, including through the use of AI and automation

What we're looking for
