Job summary

Ultimate Banking Ltd in the Northwest England is seeking a qualified Financial Accountant to join the Finance team and support financial reporting, regulatory reporting, tax and continuous improvement. The role blends technical accounting with business partnering across the organisation.

The successful candidate will have ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent, relevant post-qualification experience, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
• Post-qualification experience in financial accounting or statutory reporting.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and regulatory reporting experience.
• Experience in banking or financial services is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the preparation of the Annual Report & Accounts.
• Prepare and maintain technical accounting assessments and methodologies across loan impairment, effective interest rate adjustments, financial instruments and hedge accounting.
• Lead relationships with auditors and coordinate audit requirements.
• Support annual P&L and balance sheet budgeting and the 5-year planning process.
• Prepare and present MI and financial insights at committee meetings.
• Coordinate submission of corporation tax and VAT liabilities.
• Prepare regulatory returns.
• Support second- and third-line assurance and audit activities.
