Job description

Reed Finance are partnering with a Public Sector organisation in Leeds who are looking for a Financial Account to join their growing team. Benefits include hybrid working, local government pension scheme and free public transport in West Yorkshire.

Key responsibilities:
  1. Maintain and work within a robust monthly financial control process to monitor service delivery, investigating and resolving all problems.
  2. Operate within, and deliver outcomes in line with, the annual financial timetable.
  3. Liaise with Finance colleagues and colleagues from across the business to ensure delivery of corporate and financial outcomes by the required completion dates.
  4. Prepare comprehensive financial guidance notes relevant to the role and ensure operation in line with this guidance.
  5. Maintain a complete and current understanding of legislation, professional guidance, advice from internal/external audit, Accounting Standards and any internal or statutory requirements specific to the role.
  6. Review coding and associated financial reporting in relation to budgets, performance indicators and Statement of Accounts in compliance with relevant guidelines.
You will be able to demonstrate:
  1. Holds a degree or have equivalent relevant experience in accounting.
  2. CIMA/CCAB qualified or passed finalist.
  3. Practical experience of successfully performing in a similar role.
  4. Strong understanding and experience of financial controls.
  5. Practical knowledge of financial reporting standards and CIPFA/IFRS Code.
