The role suits an AAT Level 4 qualified professional with strong Excel skills and experience using finance systems. You will contribute to financial reporting, VAT returns, and continuous process improvements while working collaboratively.

Qualifications

• AAT Level 4 qualification, or equivalent accounting experience.
• Previous experience in a finance or accounting role.
• Strong Excel and IT skills, with experience using finance systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
• The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and posting journals, including accruals, prepayments and month-end adjustments.
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances.
• Supporting month-end and year-end close processes to meet deadlines.
• Preparing financial reports to support accurate reporting.
• Maintaining the general ledger and ensuring correct coding of transactions.
• Reconciling control accounts and reviewing unusual movements.
• Assisting with statutory accounts and audit schedules.
• Ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
• Monitoring fixed assets and depreciation.
• Assisting with VAT returns and other financial compliance requirements.
• Identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting.
• Collaborating with finance team to resolve queries.
