Job summary

National Express Bus is seeking a detail oriented Financial Accountant to join the finance team in Birmingham. You will report to the Financial Controller and help maintain accurate financial records, ensure statutory compliance, and deliver reliable reporting.

You will be at the center of the finance function, handling month end, cash flow forecasts, and audits. You will work with outsourced teams and be involved in improving processes, while ensuring UK and international accounting standards

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA). Part qualified candidates actively pursuing completion within a reasonable timeframe will also be considered.
• Experience in a similar financial accounting role (minimum 3 years).
• Solid understanding of UK and international financial reporting standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver robust month end closing procedures and statutory reporting.
• Prepare statutory accounts and consolidations across entities.
• Manage cash flow forecasting and assist with audit requirements.
• Oversee transactional processes across AP, AR, cash, and banking.
• Compile data for tax returns and maintain process documentation.
