Financial Accountant - Insurance, London

This role is with a global Lloyds insurance broker in the City of London, established for over 50 years. They seek an experienced financial accountant with prior insurance finance team experience. The successful candidate will join a finance team of 18, reporting to the finance director.

Your new role

• Production of monthly management accounting and reporting for business units within the Group.
• Preparation of general ledger journals, including international payrolls.
• Monthly revenue reporting, including posting and reconciliation of technical ledgers.
• Preparation of month-end journals, including intercompany and recurring charges.
• Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving issues.
• Assist with VAT and tax return data, including overseas companies and branches.
• Development of reporting solutions.
• Ad-hoc management reporting and financial analysis.
• Stay updated with regulatory and legal changes.
• Maintain records on company systems.
• Respond to urgent issues accurately and promptly.
• Create processes and procedures to ensure current and accurate documentation.

What you'll need to succeed

• 5+ years of experience in a finance function.
• Experience working with an insurance company is compulsory.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
