Job summary

easyJet Plc is seeking a Financial Accountant – Fleet & Capital in the United Kingdom. You’ll account for aircraft leases under IFRS 16, including new leases, extensions and end‑of‑lease provisions, with strong controls and clear reporting.

You’ll update monthly fleet balance sheet accounts, support capital accounting and reporting, asset register, acquisitions and heavy maintenance events, and model maintenance provisions.

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
• Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting packages or ERP systems.
• Proactive, detail-oriented with ability to drive change and improve processes.

The opportunity

Fleet is a significant and technically complex part of easyJet’s business. As Financial Accountant – Fleet & Capital, you’ll account for fleet-related transactions and provide analytical support to the Finance Manager for Fleet & Capital.

You’ll join the team responsible for fleet balance sheet accounts, applying your accounting knowledge and professional judgement to maintain strong, transparent controls across aircraft leases, capital expenditure and maintenance activity.

You’ll be part of the Fleet R2R team and work with finance and non-finance colleagues across the business. Clear communication, constructive relationships and dependable delivery are central to how the team gets results.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll account for aircraft leases under IFRS 16, covering new leases, extensions, exits and end-of-lease provisions.

You’ll update and reconcile fleet-related balance sheet accounts each month, while supporting capital accounting and reporting, including the asset register, aircraft acquisitions and heavy maintenance events.

You’ll provide inputs and modelling for the maintenance provision, track heavy maintenance costs, and improve, automate and streamline processes within Fleet R2R and the wider finance function.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll bring a professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA, together with the ability to understand and interpret complex accounting matters.

You’re proactive, enquiring and highly attentive to detail. You can identify issues, shape practical solutions and drive change with a continuous-improvement mindset.

You’ll manage a varied workload to deadlines and communicate confidently with finance and non-finance contacts at different levels. Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting packages or ERP systems will help you succeed.
