Job summary

Subsea7 is seeking an experienced Accountant to join the Financial Reporting team at Westhill on a full-time basis. You will deliver statutory and group financial reporting for a defined region, working closely with auditors and internal teams.

The role sits in the East Campus office in Westhill and reports to a Senior Accountant. We value accuracy, collaboration, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement within a global business.

Qualifications

• Qualified or near-qualified Accountant with audits and accounts preparation experience.
• Experience of IFRS and FRS101 statutory accounts preparation, financial controls and the audit process.
• Experience within large multinational companies or large teams would be advantageous.
• Proven track record of good quality analysis and analytical review.
• Self-motivated with a logical approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Prepare annual statutory financial statements and management accounts when required.
• Provide explanations and information to external auditors related to the Group financial statements and entity statutory financial statements.
• Demonstrate understanding of IFRS, local accounting standards, and group accounting policies.
• Support the Internal Audit process, providing explanations and information as required.
• Identify areas of process improvements and propose solutions to standardise processes.
• Coach and review the work of Associate Accountants within the team.
• Partner with the Subsea7 finance community to resolve financial reporting queries in a timely manner.

Overview

Due to an internal promotion, we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Accountant to join our Financial Reporting team in a full-time staff role. The role sits in our East Campus office at Westhill and will report directly to a Senior Accountant within the team. At Subsea7, our fantastic people ensure that this is a great place to work. The Finance Resource Centre (FRC) team work together to provide accurate accounting services to the global Subsea7 business. This position offers a challenging role in a dynamic and supportive team where you will be responsible for the financial reporting for a specific region. You will generate financial reports and financial statements for key stakeholders. There will be many opportunities to learn and develop with the support and collaboration of the team around you.

What will you be doing?

Statutory accounts

• Prepare annual statutory financial statements and management accounts when required
• Provide explanations and information to external auditors related to the Group financial statements and entity statutory financial statements
• Demonstrate a good understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards, applicable local accounting standards, local legislation and group accounting policies
• Support the Internal Audit process, providing explanations and information as required

Financial controls

• Compliance with monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements, ensuring financial controls are addressed within deadlines set
• Prepare reconciliations and analysis with relevant and appropriate back up and critical analysis of the balances in significant entities
• Assist with the review of Associate Accountants' work

General Responsibilities

• Identify areas of process improvements and propose potential solutions to establish best practice and process standardisation
• Champion standard ways of working with colleagues within the Subsea7 finance community
• Coach and review the work of Associate Accountants within the team
• Partner with the Subsea7 finance community to resolve any financial reporting queries in a timely and effective manner
• Other adhoc tasks and projects as required.
