A leading PE-backed services business in the UK seeks an experienced Financial Accountant for a pivotal role during an exciting growth phase. You will be responsible for year-end audits and acquisition accounting, contributing significantly to the finance team and organization’s success.

Base pay range

Financial Accountant – Interim (3–4 months)

Stanton House is exclusively partnered with a PE-backed services business entering an exciting growth phase, including recent M&A activity. Backed by a large-cap private equity fund and generating revenues of £70m, the business is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to support the year-end audit and acquisition accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead audit preparation and manage deliverables with external auditors (BDO)
• Prepare statutory accounts under FRS 102
• Support acquisition accounting and post-deal integration
• Own key reconciliations (balance sheet, intercompany, fixed assets, etc.)
• Assist with group consolidations and the month-end close
• Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A and operations
• Drive process improvements and ensure audit readiness

Ideal Candidate:

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with 1–2 years post-practice experience
• Strong financial reporting and audit background - must have supported with an audit previously.
• Hands-on experience with FRS 102 and acquisition accounting
• PE-backed or high-growth business is desired but not essential.
• Confident using Excel and ideally familiar with Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Independent, detail-oriented, and able to hit the ground running
