Cunningham Contracts Ltd in Newry seeks an experienced Financial Accountant to join our high performing finance team. Based at HQ, Newry, you will contribute to monthly and annual financial reporting, statutory filings, and process improvements.

You will collaborate across departments, support audits, and assist budgeting and forecasting while maintaining high standards of accuracy and control.

Formación

• Minimum 3 years in a financial accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Experience using ERPs and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• A relevant accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) is required.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare monthly and annual financial accounts including accruals and prepayments.
• Submit statutory filings and support compliance processes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally for timely reporting.
• Assist in year-end accounts and statutory financial statements.
• Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen controls.
• Support finance transformation, data reconciliations, and system testing.
• Assist external audits with documentation and explanations.
• Support budgeting and forecasting with financial analysis.
• Produce departmental reports and variance analysis against budget.
• Perform other duties as required.

We are currently seeking an experienced and talented Financial Accountant to join our high performing team. As we continue to enter new markets and territories, our finance function will be focused on scaling and improving the processes and systems that underpin the business. Financial Reporting Manager

LOCATION:

HQ, Newry

CONTRACT TYPE:

Full-Time, Permanent

Hours:

Monday-Friday (40 hour Week) with early finish on Fridays

Role Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and annual financial accounts, including accruals, prepayments, journal entries, and month-end reconciliations.
• Support business compliance processes through the preparation and submission of required statutory filings.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Contribute to the preparation of year-end accounts and Statutory Financial Statements.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen financial controls.
  
• Support finance transformation and process improvement initiatives, including data reconciliations, system testing, and process documentation.
• Support external audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes through financial analysis and data preparation.
• Produce departmental financial reports and provide detailed variance analysis against budget.
• Perform any other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time.

The Candidate

Qualifications & Experience:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Experience using ERP’s and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• A relevant accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is required.
