Overview:

We’re looking for a proactive and adaptable Financial Accountant to lead a small, dedicated finance team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on with day-to-day finance operations while also providing leadership and oversight. Whether you're qualified or qualified by experience, we welcome applications from individuals with strong financial acumen and a collaborative mindset.

This is a hybrid role, with two days per week in the office and the remainder working from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Manage and support a small finance team, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Hands-On Finance Operations: Take ownership of the full finance cycle, including accounts payable/receivable, month-end processes, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Process Oversight: Ensure smooth running of day-to-day financial operations, identifying opportunities for improvement and automation.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and ad hoc financial reports for senior leadership.
  • Compliance & Controls: Maintain financial controls and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the budgeting process and provide financial insights to aid strategic decision-making.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal departments and external partners, including auditors and suppliers.
  • System Management: Oversee finance systems and tools, ensuring data integrity and efficient workflows.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a finance role, ideally with team management responsibilities.
  • Comfortable working across all aspects of finance, from transactional tasks to strategic reporting.
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or qualified by experience – both welcome.
  • Experience working in a hybrid or flexible environment is a plus.
