Job summary

Axon Moore Group Ltd, partnering with a PE-backed SME in Chorley, is recruiting a Financial Accountant to join a fast-growing business on a newly created role. You will own the monthly accounts cycle, support statutory reporting and audits, and act as a finance partner across departments.

The role offers broad exposure to international expansion, M&A activity, and opportunities to shape processes and drive value in a dynamic finance function.

Qualifications

• Experience in management accounts and board reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly review of management accounts and prepare Board reporting pack.
• Support preparation of statutory and year-end accounts.

• Monitor changes to FRS 102 and implement impact.
• Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
• Support overseas financial reporting.
• Assist with acquisition accounting and post-acquisition integration.
• Prepare and maintain 13-week cash flow forecasts.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement across finance.
• Support cash and treasury management.
• Act as a finance business partner to internal departments.
• Provide support on ad hoc projects.

Axon Moore are partnering with a PE-backed SME based in Chorley to recruit a newly created Financial Accountant position.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the monthly review of management accounts and prepare the monthly Board reporting pack for review by the Financial Controller.
• Support the preparation of statutory and year-end accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
• Manage and coordinate the annual audit process.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes to FRS 102 and assess their impact on the business, ensuring appropriate implementation of any changes.
• Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and deadlines.
• Support overseas financial reporting.
• Assist with acquisition accounting, including supporting M&A activity, due diligence and post-acquisition integration.
• Prepare and maintain 13-week cash flow forecasts.
• Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement, process streamlining and greater efficiency across the finance function.
• Support cash and treasury management.
• Act as a finance business partner to multiple internal departments.
• Provide support on ad hoc projects.
