A well-established business in Kidderminster seeks a Financial Accountant on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave. You will report to the Finance Manager, becoming part of a small team handling management accounts, reporting, payroll, and more. Immediate availability is essential.

Qualifications

  • Skills in preparing management accounts and financial reporting are required.
  • Excellent understanding of accounting principles needed.
  • Good Excel skills and knowledge of accounting systems are essential.

Your new company
Hays Senior Finance are working with a well-established business in Kidderminster as they look to recruit a Financial Accountant on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave. Operating within the wholesale and distribution sector, my client specialises in providing quality parts and accessories for a wide range of uses. Due to the nature of the role, you will be available immediately or at short notice.

Your new role
Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will join a small team and undertake an all-round role covering management accounts, reporting, payroll and much more.

Key duties:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Preparation and posting of journals, accruals and prepayments
  • Intercompany recharges and reconciliations
  • Monthly and quarterly VAT returns
  • Processing of pension and PAYE/NIC payments
  • Support with year-end audit
  • Payroll and expenses
  • Provide cover for sales and purchase ledger when required

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified/part-qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or QBE
  • Skilled in preparing management accounts, financial reporting and payroll support
  • Excellent understanding of key day-to-day accounting principles and procedures
  • Good Excel skills and strong knowledge of accounting systems (implementation experience a bonus)
