Job summary

Electro Rent UK Ltd. is seeking a Financial Accountant to join the EMEA Finance team, responsible for audit coordination, statutory reporting, and accounting policy alignment. The role requires ACA/ACCA, US GAAP/IFRS experience, and strong Excel skills in a hybrid setup at Harrow.

You will work with Group Finance, support month-end close, intercompany reconciliations, and tax computations, with a focus on accuracy and timely delivery in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the Group annual audit and quarterly reviews for all EMEA entities.
• Lead local annual audit.
• Prepare statutory accounts for UK and European entities and ensure Local GAAP compliance.
• Act as the accounting expert for US GAAP or local GAAP guidance.
• Collaborate with Group Finance to ensure policy and process alignment.
• Liaise with the Group Internal Audit for process reviews.
• Assist month-end closing.
• Perform monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Intercompany reconciliations for all EMEA entities with US/Asia.
• Coordinate tax computations with external advisors.
• Support budgeting and National Statistics reporting.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join our EMEA Finance team. You will be working in the Financial Control team, managing the annual audit, Interim review and internal audit, and responsible for EMEA statutory reporting and ad hoc tasks. You will also work closely with the Group team for the alignment of accounting policies and processes.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Act as a key contact for external auditors and assist in the co-ordination of the Group annual audit and quarterly review for all EMEA entities, ensuring that all auditor queries are satisfactorily addressed.
• Lead local annual audit.
• Responsible for preparation of statutory accounts for UK and European legal entities and ensuring that these are in compliance with Local GAAP and filed in advance of the deadline
• Act as the technical accounting expert and assist the Financial control team with any queries on accounting treatment in line with US GAAP or local GAAP.
• Work closely with the Group Finance team to ensure compliance with Group Procedure and policy.
• Liaise with the Group Internal Audit team to perform process reviews.
• Assist month-end closing.
• Monthly and quarterly Balance sheet reconciliations.
• Intercompany reconciliations for all EMEA entities with counterparties in the US and Asia
• Liaising with legal and external advisors to prepare branch closure journals.
• Assist with system testing for new functionalities (Dynamics 365)
• Processes improvement.
• Liaise with external tax advisors in the preparation of corporation tax computations for all EMEA companies and calculate QIP
• Assist in coordination of tax comp with EMEA tax and external tax advisors
• Assist in the budget process
• Preparing the Office for National Statistics Reporting on a timely basis and ensuring compliance with all deadlines
• Assist the Financial Controller and Finance Director in all ad hoc projects as necessary

What you’ll have:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or another related field
• Qualified ACA, ACCA or equivalent with audit background and strong technical accounting skills
• USGAAP or IFRS experience
• Strong analytical and IT skills, particularly in excel
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics will be useful
• Be a strong, effective communicator with a proven ability to build relationships
• Ability to communicate with the Board and non-financial individuals alike
• Have a high level of personal motivation and initiative with the ability to work to tight deadlines in a flexible and evolving work environment.

• A high level of attention to detail

*This position will be hybrid and required to be onsite at our Harrow, U.K. offices 3 days a week.
