Job summary

A leading Private Equity firm is seeking a Financial Accountant to enhance their financial operations. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely month-end and year-end processes, and supporting compliance with accounting standards. Candidates should have ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualifications, along with at least 1 year of experience in financial services, preferably in Private Equity. The position is offered as a 6-month fixed term contract.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 1 year experience in industry within financial services, ideally in Private Equity.
• In-depth understanding of financial reporting, IFRS, US GAAP, and regulatory requirements.

Dartmouth Partners are excited to work with a leading Private Equity firm to find a Financial Accountant to join their team and contribute to the financial operations of the firm.

This is initially a 6 month FTC

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and general ledger accounts.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Reconcile bank statements and monitor daily cash flow and financial transactions.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing relevant financial data and analysis.
• Conduct variance analysis and investigate discrepancies between actual results and forecasts.
• Liaise with external auditors during audits and provide required documentation and explanations.
• Monitor internal controls and recommend improvements to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and cost control.
• Immediately available (1-2 weeks notice period acceptable).
• ACA, ACCA, or equivalent accounting qualification is required.
• A minimum of 1 year experience in industry within financial services, ideally in Private Equity or a similar investment-focused environment.
• In-depth understanding of financial reporting, IFRS, US GAAP, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Proficiency with accounting software and financial systems.
