New Financial Accountant job available in Diss

Your new company

Hays is working alongside a market-leading international business to recruit a Financial Accountant for their well-established finance team. This company has experienced significant growth, becoming the number one in their market, and aims to continue on this trajectory.

Your new role

The main purpose of this role is to support the Financial Controller in external reporting, technical accounting, sustainability reporting, and acquisition accounting. Key responsibilities include:

1. Assisting with the preparation of external reports, including the annual report and subsidiary financial statements.
2. Supporting the preparation of sustainability reports, including climate risk assessments and understanding their impact on the Group.
3. Reviewing acquisition completion accounts.
4. Researching technical accounting issues to ensure IFRS compliance.
5. Managing and reconciling technical areas on the balance sheet.
6. Performing technical calculations/models such as share-based payments and hedge accounting.
7. Gaining understanding of technical areas affecting the group, such as IFRS 3, IFRS 9, IFRS 16, and others.
8. Participating in month-end and weekly reporting.
9. Supporting the wider finance team with ad-hoc duties as required.

This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday on a hybrid basis.

What you'll need to succeed

You should be a fully qualified accountant, preferably trained in a practice setting, with strong technical knowledge of IFRS reporting. Attention to detail and the ability to influence and collaborate with others are essential.
