Financial Accountant

Title: Financial Accountant
Salary: £46,811 per annum
Location: Regular team days at our Head Office in Chandler Ford
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday - Friday)

Are you an experienced Financial Accountant, with either a qualification in ACA or ACCA or CIMA?

Do you come from an accountancy practice and are looking to move into a commercial environment?

If Yes, then we have an exciting role at The Luxion Group, as a Financial Accountant, reporting into Senior Financial Accountant.

What does this role involve?

As the Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for:

  • Financial Analysis & Reconciliation: Reconcile and analyse P&L and Balance Sheets within tight deadlines, ensuring compliance with financial procedures and accounting standards.
  • Fixed Assets Management: Oversee the management of fixed assets, particularly R&D projects. This includes assessment for capitalisation, impairment/revaluation, disposal processes as per FRS standards, and tracking capex approvals and purchases.
  • Financial Reporting: Posting all required ledger entries, reviewing the ledger to understand costs and supporting your transactions with appropriate reconciliations while building an audit trail.
  • Statutory Accounts Preparation: Prepare annual statutory accounts, tax computations, returns, and other statutory filings.
  • Tax Reporting & Submissions: Prepare tax reporting and submissions, including VAT and corporation tax.
  • Audit Liaison: Liaise with external auditors and advisors as required to ensure smooth audit processes.
  • Building and Maintaining Professional Relationships: Build and sustain strong professional relationships throughout the business to influence financial performance. This involves understanding contract, price, and cost drivers, and challenging assumptions when necessary.
Who we are looking for?

As an experienced Financial Accountant, you will be technically strong, having knowledge and experience of UK GAAP/ IFRS and FRS 102, as well as demonstrable experience in process improvements.

You will have excellent communication skills and be able to adapt your approach relevant to your audience and build effective business relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Your background working in a technical practice industry, with knowledge of audits, will allow you to hit the ground running.

Your experience of working with large data sets and organisations with high turnover (to £1 billion) will be fundamental for success.

Your strong Excel skills will allow you to interrogate data and produce relevant insights for the business.
