The Opportunity

Are you a detail-driven finance professional looking to make an impact within a supportive and forward-thinking environment? At Samworth Brothers, we're looking for a talented Financial Accountant to join our Shared Services team and help ensure financial control, compliance, and accuracy across our business. As a Financial Accountant, you'll play a key part in our General Ledger team, with responsibility for a subset of our businesses. Your focus will be on core areas such as VAT, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and wider compliance activities. Working alongside site finance teams and external stakeholders, you'll be pivotal in maintaining strong ledger controls and upholding our high standards of financial integrity.
  • Lead month-end close activities across accounts payable, receivable, fixed assets, and general ledger for assigned businesses
  • Prepare and review VAT returns, supporting compliance and responding to internal queries
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed asset registers, including asset creation, disposal, and depreciation
  • Manage intercompany reconciliations and forecasts to ensure accurate group reporting
  • Support regulatory compliance (e.g. plastic packaging tax, TSS declarations) and liaise with auditors and stakeholders

  • Strong Excel skills and working knowledge of ERP systems (MS Dynamics AX/365 a plus)
