Job summary

Brighton-based, LHH Recruitment Solutions, is partnering with an international organisation to recruit a Financial Accountant on a permanent basis. The role offers hybrid working in Brighton (2 days in the office) with a salary of £50,000–£60,000 plus benefits.

You will be exposed to statutory reporting, multi-currency accounting, VAT compliance and year-end processes across multiple entities, reporting into the Financial Controller and supporting external auditors.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with industry-based finance experience (not traditional audit).
• Experience preparing statutory accounts or supporting year-end accounts.
• Exposure to VAT returns and compliance activities.
• Experience working in a multi-currency environment.
• Good understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles.
• Strong attention to detail and proactive problem solving.
• Confident communicator across the wider business.
• Experience in international or multi-entity organisations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting schedules.
• Prepare statutory accounts for UK and international entities.
• Support the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors.
• Manage and reconcile multi-currency transactions, FX movements and intercompany balances.
• Prepare and review VAT returns and indirect tax compliance requirements.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
• Support group reporting and consolidation processes.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and financial controls.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives across the finance function.
• Build relationships with stakeholders across the business.

Working within a collaborative finance team, you will gain exposure to statutory reporting, multi-currency accounting, VAT compliance, year-end processes and financial reporting across multiple international entities. The Role

Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will play an important role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance across a number of entities. You will work closely with colleagues across finance and the wider business while supporting external auditors and advisers.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting schedules.
• Preparation of statutory accounts for UK and international entities.
• Support the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors.
• Manage and reconcile multi-currency transactions, foreign exchange movements and intercompany balances.
• Prepare and review VAT returns and support wider indirect tax compliance requirements.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies and financial controls.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives across the finance function.
• Build effective relationships with stakeholders across the business.

About You

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Qualified within an industry-based finance environment rather than a traditional audit practice route.
• Experience preparing statutory accounts or supporting the year-end accounts process.
• Exposure to VAT returns and compliance activities.
• Experience working within a multi-currency environment.
• Good understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Confident communicator who enjoys working with colleagues across the wider business.
• Experience within an international or multi-entity organisation would be advantageous but is not essential.
