Financial Accountant

We're on the lookout for a Financial Accountant to join a friendly and dynamic finance team. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in ensuring the business meets its financial reporting obligations, maintains strong controls, and keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

This role is based in Birmingham 2-3 days per week, with a salary of up to 55,000.

What You'll Be Doing:

1. Preparing statutory accounts for the group and its subsidiaries and managing the audit process.
2. Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and financial reporting obligations.
3. Preparing VAT and tax returns, working with tax advisors to keep everything shipshape.
4. Maintaining and reviewing control accounts and group balance sheets.
5. Designing and reporting financial controls to help mitigate fraud and support compliance.
6. Leading on asset management policies, controls, and reporting.
7. Supporting the wider finance team to ensure resilience in operations.

What We're Looking For:

1. ACCA/ACA/CIMA Qualified
2. Strong attention to detail and a highly organised approach to work.
3. Experience using nominal ledger systems.
4. Advanced Excel skills
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - teamwork makes the dream work!
6. A curious mindset and a drive to learn and develop.
