A leading funeral service provider in Birmingham seeks a Finance Transformation Lead to oversee critical financial processes and controls. In this role, you will lead efforts to stabilize and streamline finance operations, ensuring audit readiness and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong financial oversight and technical accounting knowledge, and will be comfortable working in a hybrid environment.
Finance Transformation Lead
Contract: Full-time, Fixed-Term (9 months)
Location: Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield (Hybrid flexible, 3 days office per week)
Salary: Up to £110,000 per annum (pro-rata)
Are you a hands-on finance change expert who thrives in fast-paced, challenging environments to better impact change? We’re looking for a seasoned Finance Transformation Lead to take the reins on a critical transformation project—revamping our balance sheet processes and financial controls ahead of our year-end audit.
This is not your average interim role. You’ll be at the heart of a high-impact mission to stabilise, streamline, and strengthen our finance operations. From diagnosing inefficiencies to embedding best practices, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping a finance function that’s fit for the future.
Your role in our story
You’ll take the lead on all financial oversight and regulatory compliance for Dignity’s Funeral Plan Trusts, ensuring the integrity, solvency, and sustainability of these vital assets.
From financial strategy and investment oversight to risk mitigation and FCA submissions, you’ll work across the business and with external partners to protect and grow our trust-based operations—while keeping transparency, accountability, and dignity at the core of every decision.

A self-starter who doesn’t wait for permission to solve problems. You’re energised by complexity, motivated by impact, and comfortable rolling up your sleeves to get things done. You see the big picture but never lose sight of the details. And you know how to bring people with you on the journey.
If you’re ready to make a real difference in a role that offers visibility, challenge, and the chance to leave a lasting legacy, this is it.
