Job summary

Arup is seeking a Finance Systems Project Manager to join the Finance Business Services PMO on a 2-year fixed-term contract. You will lead finance systems projects, manage plans, budgets and stakeholders, and shape requirements with business and technical teams across a global organisation.

The role requires end-to-end project leadership, governance, and proficiency with MS Project and Excel, plus a recognised PM qualification or progress toward accreditation.

Qualifications

  • Expertise across the full project lifecycle from business case to implementation and benefits realisation.
  • Strong knowledge of project governance, planning, budgeting, reporting and RAID management.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and presenting to leadership boards.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams in complex environments.
  • Project management qualification (APM, PRINCE2, PMI, MSP or equivalent) or working towards accreditation.
  • Experience managing projects spanning multiple business functions.

The Opportunity

Join the Finance Business Services (FBS) PMO as a Finance Systems P roject Manager (2 Year Fixed Term Contract) and play a key role in delivering a global programme of finance transformation that supports the wider Global Finance strategy. Working closely with the Group Head of Finance Programmes, you will lead complex projects that drive improvements across finance systems, processes and ways of working.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced project management professional who thrives on ownership, stakeholder engagement and delivering results in a global, fast-paced environment.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of finance systems and process improvement projects, ensuring successful outcomes aligned to business objectives.
  • Manage project plans, governance, budgets, risks, issues and dependencies to maintain control and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the global finance community, influencing decisions and ensuring alignment to project goals.
  • Facilitate workshops, shape requirements and work with business and technical teams to develop effective solutions and new ways of working.
  • Monitor progress, resolve challenges and drive delivery against agreed timelines, quality standards and budgets.
  • Lead project teams and external partners, creating a collaborative environment focused on high performance and successful delivery.
  • Support change adoption through effective communications, training materials and transition into business-as-usual operations.

We're looking for a proven project manager with substantial experience delivering complex finance transformation, systems or process improvement initiatives within large, global organisations.

You'll bring:
  • Expertise across the full project lifecycle, from business case and requirements gathering through to implementation and benefits realisation.
  • Strong knowledge of project governance, planning, budgeting, reporting and RAID management.
    Experience influencing senior stakeholders and presenting confidently to leadership teams and governance boards.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and driving delivery in complex environments.
  • A recognised project management qualification (APM, PRINCE2, PMI, MSP or equivalent), or be working towards accreditation.
  • Experience managing projects spanning multiple business functions.
  • Proficiency with project management and reporting tools, including Microsoft Project and Excel.
