Job summary

Simpson Judge is seeking a Finance Systems Manager with in-depth expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to own and evolve our finance systems landscape. You will partner with Finance, IT and external vendors to ensure stability, data integrity and strategic value.

You will drive system improvements, upgrades and integrations, while translating business needs into scalable, automated processes and robust reporting. The role offers hybrid working in Woking with regular office days.

Qualifications

Finance Systems Manager – Business Central

Location: Woking, with the ability to work from the office at least 3 days per week

Are you a Business Central specialist who enjoys having real ownership of finance systems?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and fast-paced organisation as Finance Systems Manager, taking responsibility for the development, optimisation and ongoing performance of its finance systems landscape.

This is not simply a support role. You will become the key owner of the finance systems environment, working closely with Finance, IT and external partners to ensure systems continue to perform, evolve and deliver genuine value to the wider business.

The role would suit someone who has already worked independently in a similar finance systems position and is comfortable taking ownership, making decisions and driving improvements rather than simply responding to tickets and requests.

What you will be responsible for

• Take ownership of the organisation's finance systems, ensuring stability, performance, data integrity and effective controls
• Act as the key link between Finance, IT and external technology partners
• Become the in-house Business Central expert, configuring, maintaining and optimising the platform to meet changing business requirements
• Lead the ongoing optimisation of Business Central following implementation, identifying opportunities to improve processes, automation and system performance
• Own and maintain a clear finance systems roadmap, ensuring future developments and improvements are aligned with business priorities
• Lead or play a key role in system upgrades, enhancements, migrations and new implementations
• Manage system improvements from initial requirements through to testing, delivery and post-implementation review
• Work with finance stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective system solutions
• Support the integration of finance systems with other business platforms, with experience of expense system integrations being particularly useful
• Help improve reporting, dashboards and financial data outputs across the organisation
• Ensure finance processes and systems support accurate and timely reporting across areas including GL, AP and AR
• Provide guidance, training and support to users, helping the wider finance function get the most from its systems
• Drive standardisation, best practice and continuous improvement across finance systems

What we're looking for

This is a specialist role, and strong Business Central experience is essential.

You should have:

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Previous experience working in a Finance Systems Manager, Finance Systems Lead or similar role
• Experience supporting and optimising finance systems after implementation
• A track record of independently managing and improving finance systems within an organisation
• Experience delivering system upgrades, enhancements, implementations or migrations
• The ability to develop and maintain a finance systems roadmap and take ownership of its delivery
• A strong understanding of core finance processes including GL, AP, AR and financial reporting
• Experience working with Finance, IT and external technology partners
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with finance reporting tools such as Cosmos, Microsoft Fabric or similar would be advantageous
• Experience integrating finance systems with other business applications would be beneficial, particularly expense management platforms

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is comfortable being the person who owns the finance systems agenda.

You'll need to be able to work autonomously, understand what needs improving, build a roadmap and then make things happen.
