Overview

Finance Systems Manager – Location: Chertsey / Parklands / Mobile; Department: Finance; Reporting to: Head of Finance - Foodbuy Members.

Foodbuy, part of Compass Group UK & Ireland, manages around £0.9bn of spend across our Members sector – and we’re growing fast. We’re looking for a Finance Systems Manager to play a pivotal role in helping us deliver smarter, more efficient, data-driven financial management.

This is a high-profile role where you’ll partner with our Client Account Managers, Commercial, Procurement, and CBM teams to make sure the numbers truly add up – not just on paper, but in the way we deliver value for our clients.

You’ll bring deep technical expertise, commercial acumen, and a sharp eye for detail to help us improve reporting, streamline processes, and embed automation wherever possible.

What you’ll be doing
  • Acting as a trusted business partner, supporting decision-making and driving financial performance across Foodbuy Members.
  • Managing, tracking, and reporting procurement benefits to ensure maximum value and profitability.
  • Leading system development and reporting improvements – from complex Excel models to SQL and Power BI.
  • Supporting subsector strategy with robust financial analysis and insights.
  • Partnering with the Head of Finance on new client opportunities and sector growth.
  • Driving automation, standardisation, and continuous improvement across finance systems.
What we’re looking for
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Access, SQL Server, and Power BI – with the ability to design, debug, and develop.
  • Strong project management skills – comfortable juggling multiple deadlines and stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in commercial finance, delivering real value and improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to challenge, influence, and collaborate at all levels.
  • Strong business process analysis and problem-solving ability.
  • Experience in procurement, food/non-food service, or SAP would be a bonus.
