Job Description

Job Title: Finance Systems Analyst

Location: Flexible to UK locations with occasional travel to Barrow-In-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £55,000 + depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

  1. Be the functional expert in SAP S/4HANA FI/CO, with a focus on system administration, reporting, and driving process improvements
  2. Collaborating closely with the wider Finance Systems team & IM&T supporting downstream/upstream toolsets
  3. Support the Finance Function with month-end reporting, budgeting and forecasting, ensuring financial data integrity, compliance, and proactively improving financial controls and procedures
  4. Manage and direct multiple stakeholders, both internal and external, ensuring alignment with financial reporting requirements and systems administration
  5. Lead automation projects to improve system efficiency and accuracy, identifying and implementing process improvements to drive performance
  6. Oversee the development and maintenance of data quality (supporting our Data Stewards & Owners), system support, and financial reporting, ensuring that systems underpin effective decision-making
  7. Resolve complex finance system issues by working collaboratively with internal teams and third parties, implementing “lessons learned” for future enhancements
  8. Collaborate closely with the Senior Finance Manager to ensure ERP/EPM systems and processes support month-end reporting with no risk of misstatement
  9. Manage SharePoint for Submarines Finance, driving seamless collaboration and communication across the Finance function
  10. Deliver detailed financial analysis and strategic insights to senior management, shaping the future data and management information needs to support business performance

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

  1. Extensive experience with SAP S/4HANA FI/CO or similar ERP systems, including system administration, reporting, and driving process improvements within the finance sector
  2. Solid background in accounting and finance, with a comprehensive understanding of financial systems and their impact on business performance
  3. Proven ability to collaborate with third-party consultants and developers to resolve system issues, optimise processes, and drive cross-functional improvements
  4. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven insights to support financial decision-making
  5. In-depth knowledge of finance systems and processes, ensuring integration and functionality across financial operations

Desirable

  1. A recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent
  2. A degree in finance, business, or a related field is advantageous
