Job summary

Chaucer Group is recruiting a Finance Systems Analyst to own the Finance product lifecycle, focusing on safeguarding processes, optimising run activities, and driving improvements across ERP, subledgers, EPM and analytics. You will partner with Finance and Technology stakeholders to design, implement and support Finance systems in a fast-paced Lloyd's environment.

The role reports into the Product Management Lead for Finance and requires hands-on, analytical thinking with strong Finance domain

Qualifications

  • Experience in Finance systems roles (ERP, subledgers, EPM, analytics) within Insurance or Financial Services.
  • Strong knowledge of Finance processes and accounting principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret Finance data and system interactions.
  • Experience working with Finance and Technology stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end analysis of Finance processes to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Finance SMEs, Product Owners, and engineers to design or integrate Finance systems.
  • Support implementation activities including requirements definition and testing.
  • Ensure system changes comply with Finance controls and audit requirements.
  • Produce clear user documentation and training materials for Finance stakeholders.

Role

The Finance Systems Analyst reports into the Product Management Lead for Finance and operates within the Finance Product Management function. The role supports the full Finance product lifecycle, with a focus on safeguarding Finance processes, optimising run activities, enabling continuous improvement, and contributing to transformation initiatives.

This role requires a hands‑on, analytically minded systems professional with strong Finance domain knowledge and proven experience across Finance systems, including ERP, subledgers, EPM and analytics platforms. The role works closely with Finance stakeholders to understand business needs, translate them into system requirements, and ensure that Finance products and processes remain stable, well‑controlled, and fit for purpose.

The Systems Analyst will collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Finance, Engineering, Architecture, Service Management and Quality & Technical Assurance, ensuring alignment across the matrixed Technology organisation.

Job Description
  • Product & Finance Systems Responsibilities
  • Deliver the Finance product strategy and contribute to the long‑term roadmap for Finance systems (ERP, subledgers, EPM, analytics).
  • Conduct end‑to‑end analysis of Finance processes to identify opportunities for improvement, optimisation, and transformation.
  • Assess existing Finance systems and data flows, identifying gaps, inefficiencies, and risks across the finance technology landscape.
  • Collaborate with Finance SMEs, Product Owners, architects and engineers to design, enhance or integrate Finance systems and capabilities.
  • Support implementation activities, including requirements definition, functional design, testing support and user readiness for Finance products.
  • Develop proposals for system changes or new Finance capabilities, including impact assessment, cost/benefit analysis and delivery timelines.
  • Monitor the performance and stability of Finance systems, resolving issues and proactively identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Produce high‑quality user documentation, process maps and training materials tailored to Finance stakeholders.
  • Ensure Finance regulatory, control and audit requirements are fully considered within system design and enhancements.
  • Protect the integrity of Finance processes by ensuring system changes do not compromise Financial Control, reconciliation processes, close cycles or reporting accuracy.
Leadership and Strategy
  • Demonstrates curiosity, self‑awareness and commitment to ongoing development.

Technical Delivery Management
  • Ensures all deliverables meet required quality standards and align with Finance control frameworks.
  • Supports backlog refinement, prioritisation and sprint delivery for Finance product teams.
  • Provides strong analytical support in decision‑making, particularly relating to Finance data, controls and system dependencies.
Technical Oversight
  • Ensures the Finance product team adopts best practice for Finance systems, integration patterns and master data governance.
  • Drives standardisation, simplification and optimisation across Finance applications and processes.
  • Supports assurance activities to ensure system integrity and data quality are maintained.
  • Works with Finance system vendors to ensure performance meets agreed SLAs and KPIs.
  • Supports evaluation of vendor solutions for Finance capabilities and contributes to commercial assessments.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant Finance, audit and regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Works closely with Finance leaders, controllers, operational teams and end‑users to understand requirements and ensure successful product outcomes.
  • Communicates complex technical concepts in a clear, accessible way for Finance stakeholders.
  • Builds trust and acts as a key liaison between Technology and Finance teams.
  • Identifies risks linked to system changes, Finance processes, data quality and controls.
  • Works proactively to mitigate issues and maintain a stable, well‑controlled Finance systems environment.
Performance Monitoring
  • Tracks KPIs across Finance systems and processes, identifying and driving opportunities for efficiency and accuracy improvements.
  • Ensures data and system insights support Finance reporting, planning and decision‑making.
Skills and Competencies
  • Experience in Finance systems roles (ERP, subledgers, EPM, analytics), ideally within Insurance or Financial Services.
  • Strong understanding of Finance processes and accounting principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret Finance data and system interactions.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with Finance and Technology users.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly organised, detail‑oriented and customer‑focused, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Resilient, adaptable and able to work effectively during periods of change.
