Job description

Leicester (Hybrid working)

This role sits within the Finance Transactional team for Central Services. The Finance System Administrator will support the efficient operation, maintenance, and development of the organisation’s financial systems. This role involves providing technical support to users, ensuring system integrity, conducting testing, and assisting in the delivery of training and documentation. The candidate will work closely with both Finance and IT teams to ensure the robustness and reliability of finance-related systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist in the daily operation and maintenance of financial systems.
  2. Provide technical support to end-users for financial software applications, including resolving logging issues, process queries, and system guidance.
  3. Troubleshoot and resolve system issues to minimise downtime and user disruption.
  4. Set up and configure new user accounts and permissions within financial systems, ensuring appropriate access controls.
  5. Conduct testing and validation of system upgrades, patches, and new features to ensure accuracy and functionality.
  6. Perform ongoing data maintenance, including data validation, cleansing, and entry.
  7. Monitor and maintain recharge algorithms, ensuring accuracy and relevance of the applied rules.
  8. Develop and update user manuals, how-to guides, and training materials to reflect current processes and systems.
  9. Deliver training sessions for new and existing users to enhance system understanding and utilisation.
  10. Ensure data integrity across financial systems through regular audits, checks, and control procedures.
  11. Support reporting functions by extracting and analysing data from finance systems as required.
  12. Act as an administrator for the ME ticketing system, managing incoming support requests and coordinating resolutions.
Skills And Experience
  1. Experience supporting financial systems or enterprise software applications.
  2. ATT qualification or equivalent, demonstrating a solid understanding of finance operations and data integrity.
  3. A degree or relevant qualification in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  4. Experience in system troubleshooting and user support.
  5. Familiarity with data maintenance, analysis, and validation procedures.
  6. Ability to develop training materials and deliver effective training sessions.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  9. Experience with ticketing systems.
  10. Basic SQL or other data query languages.
  11. Team-oriented with a proactive and collaborative mindset.
  12. Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  13. Committed to continuous learning and improvement.
  14. Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
