Finance Systems Accountant - Workday 18Mth FTC, London

We are seeking an experienced Finance Systems Accountant with expertise in Workday configuration for an 18-month fixed-term contract in London.

Overall job purpose

The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of Workday configuration experience, including full implementation cycles for Workday Financials and Financial Planning. They should demonstrate enthusiasm, agility, and a commercial mindset.

This role requires in-depth systems and accounting knowledge to decode complex requirements and develop configured solutions. The candidate should excel in problem-solving, prioritization, and expectation management.

Working closely with internal finance teams and supported by Business Analysts and Subject Matter Experts, the role involves developing finance configuration designs covering R2R, O2C, P2P, and Payroll, along with supporting wider interdependencies.

Responsibilities

1. Manage configuration of Workday Finance and Financial Planning modules.
2. Evaluate and propose adaptations for optimal configuration.
3. Build strong relationships with stakeholders.
4. Identify risks and recommend solutions.
5. Contribute to Workday training content for SMEs and internal specialists.
6. Collaborate with the project team, especially within the Functional Design Stream.

Professional and Personal Qualities

• Minimum of 2 years of Workday implementation experience, including FINS.
• Qualified accountant or equivalent experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to negotiate and prioritize conflicting demands.

• Strong IT skills, especially in Microsoft applications; experience with data manipulation and automation tools is preferred.
