Finance Systems Accountant - Workday 18Mth FTC

We are searching for an experienced Finance Systems Accountant with essential Workday configuration experience.

Overall job purpose

We are hiring an experienced finance systems accountant with at least 3 years of Workday configuration experience, including a full implementation cycle for Workday Financial and Financial Planning. The candidate should have an agile and commercial mindset and demonstrate enthusiasm.

This role requires in-depth systems and accounting knowledge to decode complex requirements and translate them into configured solutions.

The candidate should have expertise in problem-solving, prioritization, and expectation management.

Working closely with internal finance colleagues and supported by a small team, the role involves developing finance configuration design covering R2R, O2C, P2P, and Payroll, as well as supporting wider requirements and interdependencies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the configuration of Workday Finance and Financial Planning modules.
  • Evaluate and propose adaptations for optimal configuration.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Identify risks and suggest solutions.
  • Contribute to Workday training content for SMEs and internal specialists.
  • Collaborate with the project team, especially within the Functional Design Stream.

Professional and Personal Qualities

  • Minimum of 2 years of Workday implementation experience, including FINS.
  • Qualified accountant or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to negotiate and prioritize demands.
  • Focused, resilient, and deadline-oriented.
  • Strong IT skills, especially in Microsoft applications; experience with data manipulation and automation software is a plus.
