Digital Services at the Royal Household supports nearly 500 systems and 1,500 users across multiple UK locations. Our technology ecosystem reflects the breadth and complexity of our work, and your technical expertise will be central to enabling it. You’ll help underpin everything we do to support The Sovereign in serving the UK and Commonwealth to help shape a better world, contributing to a legacy of purpose, progress and impact.

As Technical Project Manager for our Finance System replacement, you’ll lead a major transformation – balancing ambitious timelines with a diverse stakeholder landscape. With proven expertise in delivering finance or ERP systems, you’ll bring strategic oversight, technical insight and the leadership needed to navigate the complexities of this programme. This is more than keeping things on track - it’s about future-proofing our financial infrastructure and ensuring it supports seamless, day-to-day operations across the organisation.

Key responsibilities
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of the Finance System replacement project, from planning and design to execution, implementation and closure, ensuring seamless delivery and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Manage timelines, budgets, risks and dependencies using established project management methodologies. You’ll also ensure comprehensive documentation, effective change management, and thorough post-implementation review processes.
  • Manage competing priorities and resources to ensure the project is delivered on time and on budget, proactively resolving delivery challenges to maintain momentum.
  • Partner with stakeholders to define project scope, requirements and success criteria, while supporting process re-engineering, simplification and standardisation.
  • Act as the central point of contact for technical teams, internal stakeholders, and third-party vendors, ensuring strong governance, clear communication, and consistent reporting to keep all parties aligned and focused on shared outcomes.
  • Bring substantial experience of project management in a technical environment, supported by relevant qualifications or certifications, with a proven track record of delivering successful ERP or Finance System projects.
  • Be proficient using project management platforms to plan, track, and deliver effectively.
  • Take a structured approach to manage multiple workstreams, juggle competing priorities, and maintain momentum to meet deadlines.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with ease - engaging stakeholders at all levels and influencing outcomes through trust, empathy and clarity.
  • Identify risks early and plan proactively across complex workstreams, ensuring delivery stays on track and aligned with strategic goals.
  • Communicate effectively to tailor your style for technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring clarity and shared understanding.
  • Be passionate about benefits realisation and apply post-implementation analysis to ensure measurable impact and long-term value.

This is a rare opportunity to lead a high-impact programme in a unique and historic setting. If your experience aligns and you’re ready to make a meaningful contribution, we’d love to hear from you.
