The Trafford & Stockport College Group is seeking a Finance Support Officer to join the Learner Services team. The role focuses on assessing and awarding student finance applications, and monitoring budgets to support learners across campuses.
Working within a small team, you will liaise with staff, parents and external stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate financial assistance and to maximise bursary opportunities for students.
Hours: 18.2 hours per week, Term-Time Only (0.5 FTE)
Salary: £25,596 – £26,155 FTE (£11,410.17 – £11,659.36 prorated for 0.5)
Employer Pension Contribution: 15% (FTE)
Location: Trafford and Stockport College Group (Cheadle and Marple Campuses)
The Trafford & Stockport College Group (TSCG) has an opportunity for an experienced Finance Support Officer to join the Learner Services team to help us achieve our vision of unlocking potential and fostering success.
You will be working as part of a Student Finance team with 2 other members of staff who work across our other campuses. You will be working independently within Learner Services, coming together with the wider team at strategic points to review awards, budgets/spend and the current offer to ensure that learners are supported financially.
You will assess, process and award individual student finance applications. This may involve communicating with staff, parents or other external stakeholders.
We are looking for a candidate who can work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team of other Finance Officers across our other campuses. The candidate should be relational and able to have positive interactions with learners, parents, staff and external stakeholders. The candidate will need to be highly organised and able to provide timely updates on spend which inform the student finance offer.
Experience of recording and overseeing financial budgets as well as an understanding of benefits and how they impact bursary applications and awards is preferable.
