Job Description: Finance Supervisor - Emirates Holidays

We are seeking a dynamic Finance Supervisor eager to learn about Emirates Holidays and assist with Accounts Payable functions within the finance department. The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will support the Finance Controller with technical tasks and provide assistance to other finance team members. This role involves performing accounting tasks for Emirates Holidays (EKH) across multiple countries, including UK & Ireland, Germany, and Scandinavia.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  1. Support the Accounts Payable function, ensuring accurate and timely processing and reconciliation of financial transactions in accordance with EKH's procedures and local laws for UK&I, Germany, and Scandinavia.
  2. Enter all supplier purchase invoices into the accounting system promptly, accurately reflecting EKH’s liabilities.
  3. Ensure invoices are correctly categorized, approved, and processed.
  4. Perform initial reconciliation of supplier statements for hotel, flight, and ground service costs monthly.
  5. Raise payments, ensure proper authorization, and full utilization of credit terms.
  6. Maintain and update the supplier database in the ERP system, ensuring proper documentation.
  7. Reconcile payments in the Cash Management module.
  8. Process customer refunds and compensation payments.
  9. Respond efficiently and professionally to supplier queries.
  10. Assist with month-end and year-end closing, providing documentation for audits in UK, Germany, and Scandinavia.

General

  • Promote financial awareness among non-finance units through regular meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations in all activities.
  • Support process improvements and documentation.
  • Assist the wider finance team as needed, including acting as a backup during leave.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Recognized professional accounting qualification (e.g., Chartered Accountant, ACCA) preferred.
  • Relevant experience in a finance department.
  • Strong accounting skills and analytical ability.
  • Ability to work independently within established frameworks.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of Tour Operator accounting procedures and CAA/ABTA/ATOL regulations is advantageous.
  • Fluent in English; additional European/Scandinavian languages are a plus.
