Overview

Ceremony of Roses UK & Probity together form the UK & European merchandise arm for Sony Music UK and global Sony Music merchandise group, Ceremony of Roses. This role, along with the other 4 members of the finance team, will look to service the operations of both companies contributing to the continued growth and success. You'll work closely with the business to form an in depth understanding of the merchandise process across all channels.

We are seeking a talented Financial Accountant to assist in the preparation & reporting of artist royalty statements across all revenue channels (E-commerce, Retail, Licensing & Touring) for UK merchandise companies, Ceremony of Roses & Probity. You will be able to build close relationships with the business and gain a deep understanding on both the performance and operations of two fast growing companies.

What you'll do

As the primary point of contact for UK merchandise artist royalty reporting, you will be responsible for preparing client-facing royalty statements on a quarterly basis and upon completion of artist tours. Once statements are approved, you will manage their distribution to clients and ensure timely follow-up for invoicing and payment settlement.

Key responsibilities
  • Ensuring all royalty statements are delivered to artists in accordance with their contractual deadlines
  • Maintaining an organised and up-to-date database of royalty statement schedules across all relevant channels
  • Reviewing artist contracts to ensure accurate and compliant royalty accounting
  • Performing analytical reviews to identify and investigate financial irregularities, and seeing them through to resolution
  • Coordinating with affiliate companies in non-UK territories to support international royalty settlement reporting in line with contractual deadlines
  • Responding promptly to ad hoc requests, including the preparation of provisional royalty statements
  • Building strong working relationships with internal teams to support efficient and accurate royalty reporting

  • Day to day financial operations
Other responsibilities
  • Assist with revenue recognition for retail & licensing
  • Liaise and support AP & AR teams to action client requests and monitor AP & AR ledgers as part of month-end process
  • Assist in statutory audit requests
  • Assist with E-Commerce sales & costs month-end tasks
  • Day to day admin assistance and systems support to the business e.g. B pack, Concur, SAP and cash allocation
Who you are
  • High level of communication, organization & planning to ensure deadlines are met
  • Taking ownership of role & tasks with ability to problem solve
  • Profit Share, JV Accounting, P&L and/or royalty accounting experience
  • Experience with SAP, highly skilled in MS Excel and have a solid proficiency in other MS applications
  • Able to review current processes and propose efficiencies
