Job summary

UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology is hiring a Project Support Officer (Finance) for an eight-month maternity cover. You’ll help manage financial reporting, project setup and monitoring, working with project managers and researchers across multiple UK sites.

Training will be provided to develop expertise in project finance and stakeholder engagement. You will join a collaborative team with a focus on accuracy, compliance and timely financial information, using Workday and SharePoint to support

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C/4 or above (including Maths and English)
• Strong IT skills with Excel; proficient in Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication with the ability to explain financial information clearly
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands
• Good numeracy and understanding of budget control
• High accuracy and attention to detail
• Proactive problem-solving

Responsibilities

• Providing guidance and training to project managers on systems, reports and budgeting tools
• Supporting project managers with project set-up, review and closure activities in Workday
• Assisting project accountants with workflow approvals and budget monitoring
• Maintaining accurate project information and financial records within Workday
• Producing expenditure statements to support customer invoicing processes
• Generating and maintaining project invoicing schedules
• Supporting revisions to live projects and associated financial records
• Resolving financial processing and reporting queries
