Finance Project manager, Amazon Customer Excellence Services (ACES)

Amazon Customer Excellence Services (ACES) team leads the identification and implementation of high-impact initiatives to continuously improve Finance Global Business Services (FGBS) operations. Based in Bratislava, this role drives tangible cost savings initiatives, manages improvement project portfolios, and fosters an innovative culture while maintaining customer obsession.

Base pay for this position starts from EUR 2,500+ gross per month and salary depends on the skills and requirements, there will be further pay components such as a sign on bonus and the eligibility to participate in a restricted stock unit scheme operated independently by Amazon.com Inc. in USA. Company benefits apply subject to further terms, including annual membership in medical clinic, life insurance, retirement pension, meal voucher card, career development.

Key job responsibilities

Strategic execution:
• Partner with support teams (Learning & Development, Business Analytics, HR, Controllership and Business Partners) to implement process improvement projects.
• Drive alignment between local and global ACES initiatives to collaborate with the ACES FGBS goals.
• Represent ACES in local and global forums for network-wide projects.

Process Improvement:
• Lead six sigma and lean belt projects as Yellow Belt, Green Belt, Kaizen, Value Stream mappings and FMEA projects.
• Mentor Belt projects and small improvement projects as Just Do Its (JDIs), Replicas and Eureka projects.
• Conduct quantitative analysis of key process indicators to identify improvement opportunities.
• Manage and optimize idea generation mechanisms as Gemba Walks.

Project Management:
• Ensure project progress through effective guidance and mentorship.
• Drive benefits realization through project completion.
• Develop and execute communication plans for site-wide project status updates.

Training & Development:
• Deliver Kaizen Basics, Kaizen Leader, Six Sigma Yellow Belt, Six Sigma Green Belt and FMEA trainings.
• Coach and promote continuous improvement culture across the site.
• Build and maintain the ACES Ambassadors' mechanism.

Problem Solving:
• Identify and resolve systemic issues affecting process improvement.
• Develop creative solutions for complex challenges.
• Demonstrate strategic thinking in project scoping and prioritization.

A day in the life

- Mentor Lean / six sigma Belt project and small improvement projects.
- Lead impactful belt projects.
- Deliver Lean / Six Sigma trainings.
- Identify new process improvement opportunities.
- Conduct Gemba Walks to identify process pain points and potential new projects.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field.
- Minimum experience of 3 years using Voice of the Customer (VOC) analysis to drive improvement through the application of Lean and/or Six Sigma tools and concepts.
- Experience of at least 3-5 years of project management.
- Experience in or demonstrated ability to lead people/teams without formal responsibility and interacting and building rapport with teams of all levels.
- Six Sigma Black Belt Certified - Excel, SQL, SharePoint, Power Point and Statistical packages (Minitab, SPS, JMP, others) mastery.
- Solid background in communication plans creation and execution, at a global scale.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Mastery of SQL, SharePoint, Excel, Power Point, Word and a statistical package (e.g. JMP or Minitab).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter capable to taking initiative and working with minimal direction.
- MBA or Master's Degree in related fields.
- Experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable domains - Portuguese as a third language.
