Job description

We're recruiting on behalf of a high-profile public sector organisation undergoing a major programme of change, and they're seeking an experienced Finance Project Lead to support the rollout of regulatory charging reforms and readiness for a wider business transformation. This is a pivotal role sitting within the Finance team, offering you the opportunity to lead on cost modelling, change readiness, and stakeholder engagement as part of a wider Income Generation initiative and the strategic Synergy Programme.

Woking Area Full-time, on-site (5 days) Circa GBP60,000 per annum (pro rata)

Temporary assignment - 12 months

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to ensure accurate costings and consistency in line with Managing Public Money.
  • Coordinate the development and delivery of new fees and charging proposals, working under the oversight of the Income Generation working group.
  • Immerse yourself in the Finance strand of the Synergy Programme to influence and shape proposed changes.
  • Represent the organisation at meetings and workshops, feeding into strategy and providing updates on readiness, blockers, and risk.
  • Support people-readiness activities to ensure successful adoption of new systems and ways of working.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 27001, GDPR, and records management policies.
  • Attend in-person meetings and events across the UK, with some overnight stays required.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in project delivery within a finance or regulatory environment.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills - able to adapt to different audiences and simplify complex data.
  • Understanding of the interdependencies between business and finance functions.
  • Comfortable with change management and preparing teams for process and system transformation.
  • Able to build relationships quickly and work effectively across a wide stakeholder group.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365 - especially Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
