About The Role

Finance Process Owner

12 month fixed term contract

Are you an energetic finance transformation specialist with a passion for driving change and building robust frameworks? Do you thrive when given the challenge of creating something new, influencing across all levels, and embedding processes that last?

We’re looking for a Finance Process Owner (FPO) Lead to spearhead the design, delivery, and handover of our Finance Process Ownership function. This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact by ensuring our core Finance processes are streamlined, well-governed, and future-ready.

Your role would be to lead on transformation with a clear endgame: design and deliver a fully embedded Finance FPO model and successfully transition ownership to permanent process leaders.

This role will put you at the heart of shaping how Finance operates, with influence across Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, and Record-to-Report. You’ll work with senior leaders to build governance, simplify complexity, and enable global consistency.

What You’ll Own
  • Finance Process Ownership Framework
    • Define the scope, boundaries, and racis for end-to-end Finance processes.
    • Establish governance forums and reporting structures to drive accountability.
  • Finance Process Standardisation & Design
    • Develop process principles, KPIs, and controls that drive consistency and transparency.
    • Spot and address inefficiencies, local variations, and harmonisation opportunities.
  • Finance Operating Model
    • Recommend and design the right model (centralised, hybrid, or federated).
    • Build career paths and capability frameworks for future Finance FPO roles.
  • Implementation & Continuous Improvement
    • Align Finance processes with ERP/SAP transformations and automation initiatives.
    • Introduce continuous improvement practices using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Handover & Sustainability
    • Recruit or nominate permanent Finance FPOs.
    • Deliver a smooth transition to ensure the new function is embedded and sustainable.
About You
  • Energetic and proactive, with the drive to push through transformation challenges.
  • A strong communicator, able to influence and engage senior stakeholders in a matrix organisation.
  • Experienced in finance transformation, ERP/SAP implementations, finance audit, or shared services/GBS design.
  • Skilled at governance and operating models, with a clear eye for both detail and the bigger picture.
  • Ideally someone who blends consulting expertise with industry experience, and thrives in fast-moving, change-focused roles.

  • A Finance FPO framework that is clear, consistent, and fully documented.
  • Finance leadership and teams aligned to new processes and governance.
  • A permanent FPO team recruited, trained, and ready to continue the journey.
  • Tangible improvements in process efficiency, control, and reporting.
