Job summary

Aston Villa Football Club is seeking a Finance professional to join the Finance Department at Bodymoor Heath Training Ground. You will support budget holders, analyze performance, and contribute to financial planning for ongoing success of the Club.

You will report to the Head of Finance – FP&A, collaborate with Management Accounts, and help maintain trackers, spend analyses, and financial models. Flexibility for matchdays and events is beneficial.

Qualifications

• finalist or newly qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) or bring relevant practical finance experience
• experience in a finance, accounting or analytical role
• strong Excel skills and data analysis ability

Responsibilities

• Help budget holders understand financial performance and support day-to-day decisions.
• Report to the Head of Finance – FP&A and develop business partnering skills with guidance from senior Finance colleagues.
• Collaborate with departmental contacts and Management Accounts to check financial information, investigate variances and prepare reports and commentary.
• Collect and review budget and forecast inputs, maintain trackers and help colleagues understand expenditure and drivers of performance.
• Update financial models, support business cases, scenario analysis and assessment of costs and returns.
• Identify opportunities to improve value and reporting processes; ensure financial controls are followed and raise significant issues for review.
