Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of accounting frameworks and ability to articulate technical concepts.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement tools and implementation.
  • Experience with banking processes and systems.
  • Proactive team player with strong collaboration and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, including VBA.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and reviewing journals, accruals, prepayments, and trial balance accounts.
  • Performing daily bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Conducting analytical reviews across entities to validate balances, movements, and trends.
  • Resolving complex transactions and reconciliation breaks.
  • Representing Finance Operations in local and corporate initiatives.
  • Leading end-to-end process reviews to drive efficiency and reduce risk.

Finance Operations Analyst

12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Location: Edinburgh (We believe in the power of in-person collaboration, and our hybrid model requires colleagues to be in the office a minimum of 40% of their time)

Salary: A competitive salary from £33,040 - £49,560 depending on the experience you can bring

We now have an opportunity for a Finance Operations Analyst to join us in Edinburgh on a 12 month fixed term contract. In this role, you'll support the day-to-day delivery of BAU Finance Operations, ensuring high-quality service aligned to standards and deadlines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and reviewing journals, accruals, prepayments, and trial balance accounts.
  • Performing daily bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Conducting analytical reviews across entities to validate balances, movements, and trends.
  • Resolving complex transactions and reconciliation breaks.
  • Representing Finance Operations in local and corporate initiatives, ensuring risks, controls, and accounting impacts are captured.
  • Leading end-to-end process reviews to drive efficiency, strengthen controls, and reduce risk.
