Job summary

Witherslack Group, the UK’s leading specialist education and care provider, seeks a Finance Officer to support the Group Finance team and schools/homes. You’ll process supplier invoices via Workday, assist with month-end accruals/prepayments, and help prepare management accounts.

The role is based primarily at the Lupton Group Office with flexible working up to two days per week after induction, and opportunities to develop procurement knowledge and training across the business.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience of working within a Finance team.
• Experience of processing financial data and supporting transactional finance activities.
• Experience of preparing management accounts.
• Experience of working with Workday.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with colleagues across all functions of the business.
• The ability to manage your own time and plan your workload effectively to meet deadlines.
• The ability to work well as part of a team and to tight deadlines when required.
• The ability to challenge and address issues where financial policies and procedures are not being followed.

Responsibilities

• Provide transactional support to the wider Finance team and our schools and care homes across the Group.
• Process supplier invoices through the Workday purchase order system, resolving queries and ensuring correct processing.
• Support month-end by reviewing open purchase orders and coordinating accruals and prepayments.
• Prepare monthly management accounts for designated sites and identify areas for investigation.
• Act as a key point of contact for sites, guiding procurement policies and procedures.
• Assist with Workday system training and adding new suppliers.
