Job summary

Witherslack Group is seeking a Finance Officer to join our Group Finance function. Based mainly at the Lupton Group Office with flexible hybrid working, you will process supplier invoices in Workday, support month-end accruals and prepayments, and prepare journals for designated sites.

You’ll also produce monthly management accounts, challenge variances, and help sites follow procurement policies. The role offers competitive salary and full benefits, with ongoing training and seven weeks’

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience of working within a Finance team.
• Experience of processing financial data and supporting transactional finance activities.
• Experience of preparing management accounts.
• Experience of working with Workday.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with colleagues across all functions of the business.
• The ability to manage your own time and plan your workload effectively to meet deadlines.
• The ability to work well as part of a team and to tight deadlines when required.
• The ability to challenge and address issues where financial policies and procedures are not being followed.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices through Workday PO system and liaise with suppliers and colleagues to resolve queries.
• Support the month-end process by reviewing open purchase orders and calculating accruals/prepayments.
• Prepare journals and schedules relating to month-end accruals and prepayments.
• Prepare monthly management accounts for designated sites and investigate variances.
• Provide guidance on procurement policies and procedures to sites.
• Assist with Workday system training and add new suppliers.
• Support the Finance team during busy periods and deadlines.
