Role and Responsibilities: As a Finance Officer at System People, you’ll be at the heart of our financial operations, ensuring smooth and efficient processes. Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Sales Invoicing: Accurately process and generate sales invoices, maintaining meticulous records of all transactions.
  2. Bank Receipts: Handle bank receipts and reconcile financial data to ensure accuracy and transparency.
  3. Debtors Report: Monitor and manage debtors, preparing comprehensive reports for effective debt management.
  4. Debt Chasing: Proactively follow up on outstanding invoices and manage debt collection efforts.
  5. Queries: Address and resolve financial queries promptly and professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  6. Non-Attendance Charges: Handle non-attendance charges efficiently and in accordance with company policies.

Requirements: To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Proven experience in finance and accounting, preferably in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in using financial software and tools, with a strong knowledge of MS Excel including lookups.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational abilities.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive and results-driven mindset.

You will be using several systems, including our operational system AccessPlanit, Sage Intacct (financials), and Satago (credit control & debt management system). Enthusiasm and confidence to learn and adapt to new systems is essential; full training will be provided. Prior knowledge of these systems is not essential.

The hours of work are part-time and can be flexible to fit the candidate based on a fixed schedule. Usual office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. Ideally, 25-32 hours per week. Part-time hours can be arranged flexibly, either around school hours (5 days a week) or full days over 4 days. The role is based in the office at Carlisle Airport Business Park but can offer flexibility for a hybrid schedule with one day at home per week.
