Job summary

Joseph Hughes Associates is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant for a part-time, office-based role in the Caerphilly area. The position is 16-20 hours per week with a pro rata salary circa £33,000–£35,000, initially a 6-month contract likely to lead to permanent employment.

You will support the company accountant with day-to-day accounting, including supplier and customer ledgers, and assist with reporting and Sage 200 setup, requiring at least 3 years UK accounting experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years UK accounting experience.
• Part-time, 16–20 hours per week.
• AAT or ACCA part qualified.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Company accountant with day-to-day accounts and ledgers.
• Assist with accounting entries up to trial balance.
• Prepare financial statements including P&L, Balance Sheet & cash flow forecasting.

An exceptional opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join an International Engineering organisation in this newly created office-based role. You must have 3 years + UK accounting experience.

Main responsibilities

• Assist the Company accountant in all aspects of the day-to-day accounts and support the sales and purchase ledger functions.
• Assist with any accounting entries up to trial balance stage.
• Financial statements including P&L, Balance Sheet & Cash flow forecasting as required.
• Setting up reporting and schedules in Sage 200.
• Provide cover for both the accountant and sales and purchase ledger clerks.

The Assistant Accountant Finance Assistant is likely to be AAT or ACCA part Qualified.

This is a Part time role and you must live in or near South Wales.

You must also have:

• The permanent right to work in the UK.
• A minimum of 3 years + experience in a UK Accounting role.
• Travel to work from: Pontypridd, Caerphilly, Blackwood, Newbridge, Ystrad Mynach, Treforest, Cwmbran, Aberdare, Cardiff, Newport.
