Job description

RM Recruit are proud to be working with an empowering not-for-profit organisation based in Birmingham, who are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join their team on a part-time, 12-month contract basis. This role involves working 28 hours per week and there is scope for the position to become permanent. Our client can offer a flexible, hybrid working arrangement with the office presence at two days per week and the rest working from home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing monthly sales invoices
  • Banking cash & cheques received
  • Processing monthly purchase invoices
  • Support month-end and year-end financial processes, including reconciliations and journal entries
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls
  • Provide administrative support to the finance team, including data entry and document management
  • Liaise with suppliers, service providers, and internal teams regarding payments and queries
  • Ensure timely and accurate input of financial data into accounting systems (e.g. Sage, QuickBooks, or similar)

Person Specification

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounting support role
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial software packages
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive approach and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • AAT qualification or similar (desirable but not essential)

The successful candidate will be subject to a DBS check upon appointment.
