Job summary

WWT is seeking a Finance Officer to join the Transactional Finance team. The role covers accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial controls, and charity finance systems in a supportive environment.

You will help maintain efficient AP/AR functions and support KPI reporting while contributing to WWT’s mission to restore wetlands for wildlife and people. The role is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract for 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based at Slimbridge with hybrid working (minimum 2 days

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts payable and receivable, including AP automation and P2P systems.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices, expenses, credit card transactions, payments and refunds accurately.
• Resolve transactional finance queries from colleagues, customers and suppliers.
• Maintain the purchase and sales ledgers, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Support robust financial controls and compliance with organisational procedures.
• Assist with month-end and year-end processes, reconciliations and audit requirements.
• Contribute to KPI reporting and continuous improvement of finance processes.
